Hello this is Angelo Gargarello the new caption of the Melvindale robocards team 5 just wanted to know if we where the first to have duel battery's on the robot with a back up pair. This system has a switch to switch from one set of battery's to the 2ed set just wondered if any one else did this yet

You'd get the same 2x running time without the need for a switch. |

Re: Dule batterys
Batteries in parallel rarely work as well as you'd expect. Unless they are very well matched in condition, you'll usually end up with one battery discharging farther than it should before the other one has provided all its available energy.

Re: Dule batterys
Angelo,
Can you be more specific? Was this an FRC robot or something else? Were you using this for competition or show? FRC competition rules only allow one battery on a robot during competition. A second battery whether connected or not cannot be added to the robot. |

Re: Dule batterys
This couldn't have been used during competition, I don't think there's an inspector that could possibly miss TWO batteries on a robot.
The OP was a bit confusing, it sounds as though there are two separate sets of batteries, with each set consisting of two batteries wired in parallel. Is this the case? In any case, I believe it's been done before, but I don't think it's incredibly common. It's still quite an interesting thing to do. |

O.k this is just a for fun robot that is able to shoot ping-pong balls with compressed air using the first pneumatics compressor. What I have done is wired two battery's using a switch and a power board if needed i will take a picture to post for all of you that are interested in this project thank you for all the reply's
