2008 Solenoid wireing

Were making a demo using the 2008 control system and can't figure out how to hook the solenoid up to the spikes. Can anyone help?

Re: 2008 Solenoid wireing

Of course!!

It's actually really simple. Assuming that it's a double solenoid, there's 2 ways to do it. I prefer the way i'll explain below. Much easier.

You wire the two ground wires from each side of the solenoid together and run that to the ground on the breaker panel. Then the two red wires from each side of the solenoid can be run to the two plugs on the spike. Because it's a dual relay, you can switch between one or the other side of the solenoid.

The other way is wire the red and black of one side together, but on the black, you solder in a diode, that way you don't have to run the ground to the breaker panel. It'll work exactly the same. My team has done it both ways. Of course i prefer the first one.

If you have any other questions CD is here. You can PM me if you need a diagram for anything like that

Re: 2008 Solenoid wireing

If it's a Festo valve, here are the instructions. (It could be either of the two wiring configurations; if one doesn't work, just try the other.)
