hi i was wondering how to get involved in first robotics fantasy competition

You can either join the Season Long League, in which you select a set of teams for each event and tally your score for the whole season or wait and see if leagues pop up for individual events (or run your own!).

There is a schedule posted in the Season Long thread that details when the drafts will be for each event.

The league members will be broken up into "tiers" as necessary to allow each person to select 3 teams for each event. A thread will be started on the day of the draft for each tier with a draft order and each person's pick times. You can either post your pick when your time rolls around or send in an ordered list of desired teams to the person running the draft before it starts which they will autodraft from when it is your turn.
