**FIRST EMAIL**/Recognition for FRC Team Mentors

12/08/09 News - Recognition for FRC Team Mentors

FIRST would like to mail a Certificate of Recognition and a 2010 Mentor/Coach pin to each FRC Mentor who has been recognized by their team in TIMS. The mailing will start in January, National Mentoring Month, and will continue throughout the 2010 season until all FRC team mentors receive a pin and certificate.

We encourage FRC team leaders to officially recognize the efforts of team mentors by using the "Invite Mentor" feature in TIMS. To invite a mentor, you will do the following:

* Log in to TIMS
* Click "Edit" on your Team List page
* On the Team Summary page, click "Edit/View" next to Team Contacts
* From the Team Contacts page, you will locate the "Invite Mentor" feature just below the Shipping Contact's information
* Mentors who are invited by a team leader to register in TIMS will do the following:
1. Single click on the link provided in the email invitation.
2. On the Welcome Page, mentors who have NOT created an account in TIMS will click on the "Create Account" button (Mentors with existing accounts in TIMS will log in) and fill in required information.
3. After mentors have either created an account or logged in to their existing account, they will be brought to the Returning Invitee Page where they will accept the invitation and input a few more pieces of information.
4. Once the invitation is accepted, mentors will receive a "Congratulations" email which confirms that their registration is complete.

Re: **FIRST EMAIL**/Recognition for FRC Team Mentors

From Dennis Howland, FIRST Volunteer Resources Manager.

>>The Mentor Registration area in TIMS is now “bug free” and operational for all Main Contacts to invite the other mentors on their team to register. We’d like to get the word out to those FRC Main contacts to go back to their TIMS accounts and send the invites. This link is the explanation and step by step for both the Main contacts to invite and the invited mentors to return and complete the registration. If You know of a good way to promote this on ChiefDelphi, the help would be appreciated.
