Direct Links to my Favorite FRC Resources
Here are links to the resources I've used over the last couple of years. By no means is this any sort of FIRST-official list; they are my favorites. Please feel free to add to them!
I understand that there are links on the left side of CD's portal page, but those do not directly link to interesting documents on, for example, manipulators. (IMO) Best, most comprehensive, engineering process paper that high school students can understand: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2303 Need ideas for fundraising, recruitment, or management? http://www.firstnemo.org/resources.htm http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr....aspx?id=14034 Design & Build Resources: http://www.andymark.biz/presentations.html (most up-to-date) http://team1323.com/pages/resources.html http://thinktank.wpi.edu/Portal (most comprehensive) http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/ (alot of good, but it's not organized so use the search tool) Data Resources http://www.matweb.com (Material strengths and densities) Programming Resources http://www.simbotics.org/controls (C++, best I've found but may be out of date for 2010) http://forums.usfirst.org/showthread...3413#post33413 (java) http://thinktank.wpi.edu/tag/39 (Labview) CAD Resources: http://team1323.com/cad/index.html http://www.firstcadlibrary.com (all FIRST specific) http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/default.aspx (Best for Solidworks) http://www.andymark.biz -- all of their products have a link to CAD, including the KOP Frame Rookie Resources: http://moe365.org/moementum/moementum.php http://www.battlefieldrobotics.org/F.../AllItems.aspx My Favorite Supplier Sites: http://www.mcmaster.com (Easy to use with ALOT of different items) https://sdp-si.com/eStore/ (Mechanical parts, and I've found it's esp. good for sprockets; also very easy to use) http://www.smallparts.com/ (Like mcmaster & sdp-si) http://www.martinsprocket.com/ http://www.bostongear.com/ http://www.andymark.biz/ http://www.banebots.com (Motors, transmissions) http://www.robotshop.ca/sensors.html (Sensors) http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/categories.php?c=23 (Wonderful for sensors, but shipping may be delayed due to a crazy giveaway they're doing today 1/7/09) |

A great list!
And although it is still under construction, and still being edited, and still being updated and broken links still being repaired <sigh> check out the Mentor Resources Library: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr....aspx?id=14034 Any new content is welcome. |

http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr...nt.aspx?id=478 Or this? http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr....aspx?id=14034 The usfirst.org site is a challenge to navigate and the search engine is impossible. KathieK taught me this trick: I DO search the site in Google, "site:www.usfirst.org keyword" |
