2010 Driver Station Netbook Driver Account and Java
Quick question about this year's driver station. It obviously came with that new netbook that has a developer and driver account. The driver account is a LabView like interface for getting feedback from the robot. Does this also, however, work when you are writing your robots code in Java?

Yes, it should. It gets output from the robot no matter what type of coding.

Re: 2010 Driver Station Netbook Driver Account and Java
The driver station program communicates with the robot, field, and dashboard programs the same as last year's dedicated HW. The only indication it has as to what is running on the robot is displayed on the Diagnostics tab, where it displays the contents of a file that it ftp's from the robot.
The dashboard is also open, supplied with source code so that teams can modify or rewrite their own. Greg McKaskle |
