Question: If you build the frame as specified in this drawing
And the transmissions are centered and under the frame as shown, will it clear the bump on this years field ? |

Re: Simple KitBot Frame Question
We built the frame as shown in the drawing and it does hit the bump. To fix this problem mount the toughboxes onto the top of the frame.

Re: Simple KitBot Frame Question
ALSO, if you assemble as per the drawing your not following the bumper rules. The gaps in the corner of the chassis causes the bumper to not be fully supported by the frame perimeter.

Re: Simple KitBot Frame Question
We found we could clear the bump all right if we shortened the wheelbase slightly. We still have pretty good stability at the maximum angle of tilt. Of course, if the wheelbase gets too short there will be a loss of stability.

Re: Simple KitBot Frame Question
It does not clear, and also it seems to easily tip over if you aren't careful with driving, and where you put your weight. Also, has trouble turning with 4 rubber wheels.
