Re: Team 383 kicker prototype
I just wish we could reasonably test our prototypes (reasonably adequately) outside

We haven't taken any pictures yet, sorry, but it is a simple human-arm actuated, surgical tubing powered kicker as of now - like many you see other teams doing here on CD. I''l post some pictures when it is working a bit better and looking tidier. |

Re: Team 383 kicker prototype
It looks like the arm is still manually pulled back/released. Any ideas for how to do it mechanically?

Re: Team 383 kicker prototype
We tested it this week with a Window Motor (previous year's model) and it worked just fine, although very slowly. The final robot should have an overengineered gearbox with as many powerful motors we have left. Release will be by means of a dog gear, probably actuated by a Denso motor with linkage.

![]() EDIT: Last year's motors would be legal (as replacements, not additions), as they are the same as this year's. The particular window motor we used would not, as it is a different model. Last edited by Manoel : 16-02-2010 at 15:22. Reason: Clarification |

Re: Team 383 kicker prototype
Do you have a way of shooting with less power?

Re: Team 383 kicker prototype
Yes, it is possible both mechanically (winch release) and electrically (sensor feedback). We'll probably limit the operator to choose between three settings only, one for each zone.

Re: Team 383 kicker prototype
Nice, that's a slick way to do it.
