Problems!
Has anyone else been having problems with the Autodesk. Like it's user interface is really difficult. What would be much better is if we could get the virtual parts for Solidworks. Is there anywhere my team can find pre-rendered parts in Solidworks because many people in my team already are experienced in Solidworks.

Re: Problems!
The KOP is being modeled in Solidworks and put up on 3D Content Central.
You may also find some models of parts that have been in the kit for a few years in the 1323 CAD Library or IGES or STEP files of parts which you can import into Solidworks on FIRST CAD Library. You may also be able to import the Pro-E or Inventor KOP models into Soldworks. I have had some success doing this for a few parts. |

Re: Problems!
Search for 2009kop and 2010kop on www.3DContentCentral.com
There is also an entire robot accessory category just for FIRST or look for the Andy Mark part number. Importing geometry has plus/minus results. In one case the parts are lighter - but the geometry is not smart. Also, we did not duplicate nuts and bolts if they are already ANSI or ISO in SolidWorks Toolbox. Smart Fasteners are smarted still and save time. If we are missing something, let us know and we will do our best to get the model. Marie |
