PWM placements

Does it matter which pwm slots are used only for certain motors/servos/etc?
Our team got the encoders and motors to work together correctly, but the camera's servos did not turn. Do the encoders, motors, camera have a special configuration regarding the slots?

Also, we have a problem with pinging/recieving an image from the camera while it's connected to the cRIO. We can ping it and access its webserver while it is connected the Game Adapter. The ethernet lights connected to the camera on the cRIO don't seem to flash either...?

Re: PWM placements

For the servo motors, you need to install the jumper on those PWM outputs on the digital sidecar. (next to the PWM-OUT)

those jumpers allow power to flow to the servo motors, in addition to the control signals.

it's very important to NOT have those jumpers in place if that PWM channel is going to a victor or jag.

That's actually not true. On both the victor and the Jaguar, the center pin is not attached. The jumpers are there for hardware flexibility. Actually, I think Eric was just trying to throw in one more thing for people to overlook so that he would have more forum posts to respond to. If you chose to put a jumper on every channel and then forget about them, that would be fine too.

You do need to use a crossover camera with the camera. When it's connected to the cRIO, you won't be able to ping the camera with your computer because the cRIO is in-between.

How are you trying to view the image?

Re: PWM placements

I was trying to view the image through the example camera program, the dashboard, and the webserver. But, now I know the webserver won't work through the cRIO because of the IPs. We have lit lights now because of the crossover cable. I think we have to reimage the cRIO, because we updated the PCs and Classmate after the original imaging.
