Light up the Sky for Vancouver 2010
If you've ever wanted to blast 200kW of reasonably collimated photons into the sky over Vancouver, now's your chance.
As part of the Winter Olympics "Cultural Olympiad", Vancouver is playing host to "Vectorial Vancouver", a public art installation that involves 20 massive, robotically controlled spotlights projecting patterns designed by users over the internet. The spotlights are visible from all over the city, but of course the patterns only make sense from one or two different viewing positions. They will send you photos of your design when it gets projected, so you don't actually have to be here at 3:40am (or whenever) to see it. Go ahead and have fun... http://www.vectorialvancouver.net/home.html Jason |
