Defective Ethernet Port on FRC Laptop

Our laptop provided with the kit has a defective ethernet port. If we connect an ethernet cord to the laptop it becomes loose. The only way we can hold it in place is by using masking tape. It works but over time it still gets loose. Does any one have the same problem as us? Also, does anyone have a solution to our problem? We are open to any suggestions and ideas, thank you for your time.
