Operator Console
On the operaton console do we need to make a spot for the router and the e-stop button because what rule <R87> says is at competition they will supply these things and if they do we need to reset our IP address? We're designing our control board and was wondering if we needed to make space for the router and the e-stop button.

Re: Operator Console
You can leave room for the router if you like, but you will not be permitted to use it at a competition.
The field network will be reconfigured by the control system every match for each team's IP addresses. The only special action you will have to take is a one-time setup of your robot's wireless adapter, to install the team-specific key for WPA security. This will almost certainly be handled at a kiosk that only needs your WGA and your team number and does the process automatically. |

Re: Operator Console
Although you don't need it, I would recommend that you include a spot for them. Our teams is planning to so that we can operate the robot neatly with everything on our board at any time, especially during driver practice. We are also planning to have all the adapters and tethers in a compartment as well.
Good luck! |
