This system looks strong enough but wouldn't you need to recess the black brackets into the plywood so that the plywood is touching the channel or put spacers between each bracket

Your black bracket on the back of the bumper seems to fall into one of those designs. The question is whether that will be considered in compliance with <R07-I>: Quote:
