Windriver Project will not open

The essence of our problem is merely that although we can open individual files on WindRiver, we cannot open the full project, and the "Open Project" option under the Project tab is greyed out, and is unclickable. None of our many versions of code are showing up in our project explorer. Thank you in advance for your help!

If you have no closed projects, you will not be able to open any projects.
If you have a closed project, you need to highlight it to open it -- you can right click on a closed project and open it using the context menu.
If your project explorer view shows no projects (and you know you had projects at one time), your workspace is probably hosed.
Why don't you post a screen shot showing the project explorer?

Ok, the obvious question then is -- did you have projects showing at some point?

Do you have a directory called c:\windriver\workspace?
If so, is there anything in it?

Hopefully, you didn't inadvertently delete your projects?

Edit: I can see from your screenshot that you do have a c:\windriver\workspace directory.

Re: Windriver Project will not open

We can still open the .cpp, but we just can't seem to open the project itself.
We still have all of the fies, and even the project file we are looking for is in there, but it can not be opened.

Re: Windriver Project will not open

Have you tried creating a new, empty workspace, and then adding/importing your project into the new workspace?

Just go to File->Switch Workspace, and give a directory to a new workspace. Once you've done that, you can create new projects or import an existing one.

If that doesn't work.. Ummm.. Maybe check that the workspace directory (or even project directory) isn't read only?

Re: Windriver Project will not open

You should make a copy of your current workspace directory and then try to import the projects you want to get back.

In the project explorer view, right click and then select Import from the context menu.
That will pop up an Import dialog.
There you should select General->Existing Projects into Workspace -- click Next.

The dialog will change and you want to select "Select root directory" and click the Browse button.
Browse to c:\windriver\workspace and then click OK.
With any luck, you will be shown some number of (salvageable) projects.
Check those you want to recover.
I would try recovering just one project at first.
If it works out, then recover any others you need.
Please let us know how this turns out and don't forget to make a copy of the workspace directory FIRST!
