Re: Animation

Sadly, if you want to enter the animation competition you have to use one of Autodesk's products. My team uses 3ds Max but I also believe you can use Maya. I say sadly because if it wasn't for this limitation, I would be on our animation team, I just can't stand the 3ds Max interface.

Re: Animation

I personally hate 3ds max with a burning passion. It works wellish if it is running on a system that is qualified to run it but on any of the school computers it just bugs out like a termite mound with a firecracker in it. I have since discovered Maya which I LOVE! While there is a debate in the professional animation community which is better but the general consensus is in favor of Maya. Maya works much better on an under qualified system and I think the interface is miles better. I posted a thread about helping teams get started with Maya a fair bit earlier. MissPink233, I'd be happy to help you get started animating and Kit help you move over to Maya. Here's a link to the form http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...highlight=Maya

Re: Animation

Hi

I my opinion I like Maya better as I find it being much more powerful than MAX out of the box. MAX is good if you are bothered to buy all the third party addons such as FumeFX (MAX does not have "Fluid Dynamics"). But for a beginner Maya is definitely the more suitable package.
