SWOT Analysis of FIRST

I’m working on a SWOT analysis on FIRST for an assignment in a business class. For those unfamiliar with SWOT, it is a strategic planning method often used in business to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of/to an organization. Strengths and weaknesses are internal, where opportunities and threats are external. Once items in each category have been identified information can be analyzed to determine how strengths can be used to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate threats, and how to overcome weaknesses that prevent taking advantage of opportunities.

1. Does anybody have ideas for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, or threats related to FIRST? This can be FRC, FTC, or FLL on either a local or global scale.
2. Has anybody ever done a SWOT analysis of your team, and did it help to focus efforts?
