Motors for Intake Rollers
Our team is planning on using intake rollers for our robot's manipulator. We were thinking of using one BB RS540 for each the top and the bottom. We haven't used these motors before and don't know what kind of reduction is appropriate. What type of ratio do you think would be optimal to reduce the speed of the motors down to that of the rollers?

Re: Motors for Intake Rollers
Just divide the speed of the motor (in RPM, from the motor data) by the speed you determine with your experiments to be ideal for the rollers (also in RPM - you're doing experiments, right?) and that's the required ratio.

Re: Motors for Intake Rollers
For our prototype we use RS550 motors with a 64 to 1 geardown, and they worked beautifully.

Re: Motors for Intake Rollers
Given the choice between the 540 and 550, I'd go with the 550s.
