Hahahaha good stuff guys. Looks pretty good for your minibot.
By the way, my favorite is playing a little game of Nighttime Daytime |

Re: Team 340 Minibot teaser
Awesome! Looks very promising! And you say it is still in light mode? Now I am scared.
what intrigues me the most is how small of a profile it has. That little piece of paper covers the whole bot. Keep up the good work! |

Re: Team 340 Minibot teaser
Nice work guys. How late were you at the shop last night?
The robot is under the foam board. (Alan) I'm guessing we still have a bit of weight reduction to do. |

Re: Team 340 Minibot teaser
About 1:15 am
![]() I just wanna say how proud I am of our minibot subteam group. They put in about a 16 hour work day on Saturday starting at 9AM. They keep pushing forward, willing to try new things, and I'm so happy with the progress we're making. Some stats on "Alan"- our minibot: - He weighs 2.88 lbs total- required Tetrix battery (~1.3 lbs) and Tetrix motor (~.5 lbs) leaves the rest of Alan to weigh about 1 lb. We've made him as light as possible, with a couple more tenths of a pound to still shave off. - He's somewhere between 12 and 14 inches long. - I guess the rest you'll have to see at FLR, Chesapeake, and St. Louis! ![]() |

Aww, a moving piece of foam board! So cute!
Isn't Alan a little too long still? |

Re: Team 340 Minibot teaser
<R91> The MINIBOT may not exceed a 12” x 12” x 12” volume and weigh no more than 15 lbs. MINIBOTS will be inspected for the volume constraint by being placed in a five-sided box with internal dimensions of 12" x 12" x 12". If the lid (the sixth side of the cube) does not seat properly, the MINIBOT does not pass this part of the MINIBOT inspection.
This means that your minibot can be placed in the box in any matter... doesn't need to be constrained to 12"Wide x 12"Long x 12"Tall... A squared+B squared= C squared ![]() Not yet. That's next on our list to be finalized. Our solution shouldn't add any weight though.ALAN! AL! AL! ALAN! Last edited by Mike Starke : 30-01-2011 at 14:03. |

Re: Team 340 Minibot teaser
I'm just jealous that your school allows subteams to meet without the lead mentor (that'd be me in 1551's case) being there...
If I'm not there, nobody can be there. Them's the rules! |

Re: Team 340 Minibot teaser
No, he means if I set it in the box diagonally, or better yet diagonally and on 45 degree angle then my minibot can be longer then 12".
