"Limited" Wireless Access

Hey, we are a rookie team are having trouble with our wireless connection; whenever I try to connect to the radio, it says that access is limited and the light next to communication in the Driver Station stays red. I'm using my own laptop, not the classmate, and when I use a cable to connect to the cRIO it works fine. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: "Limited" Wireless Access

I am not sure how to solve your other issue (we are having a similar one), but a clarification on limited.

in windows if you have a network connection without internet access they define it as limited. Since the robot is supposed to be on a LAN without an internet connection this should be expected.

Re: "Limited" Wireless Access

In order to establish communication with the cRIO, the Driver Station program has to be on a computer with a matching IP address (10.36.11.5 for your team).

Re: "Limited" Wireless Access

Hello Alan,
I have the same issue as listed above. The one difference is that I have checked addresses and everything now apprears to check out. The one thing that I wonder is what would make the communication be sparatic on the driver station if everything is correct?

Is there an area of the program.....say the watchdog not being present in the program that is causing the communication to drop??

Re: "Limited" Wireless Access

Ok, got it working!

You were both right, limited access is still there even while it works and the IP is 10.xx.yy.5 in the wireless adapter properties (I had a 6 instead of a 5 at the end).

Thanks for the help guys!
