Dead axle would require bearing seats in the wheels, no?

You could use bushings instead of bearings. I made the dead-axle guess based upon the six hole pattern in all of the wheels.

yeah it is, and we have never had the same wheel design for 2 years except for in 08 i believe |

Just wondering, what advantage do you get in making your own wheels? Are they lighter, stronger or what?

Yes, they are lighter, and you can use any diameter (lever advantage) or width. They also have better tread grip and are quite nice in my opinion.
