Bill of Materials Canadian Currency

We have been having some issues with the bill of materials as we read that all prices must be converted into US currency from Canadian. Is their any specific date that we should refer to seeing as the exchange rate varies day to day?

Re: Bill of Materials Canadian Currency

The price for components and raw materials also changes occasionally. I think you can just pick a representative exchange rate from the approximate time you bought things and you should be okay.

With that said, I am not an inspector, and my advice carries no special weight.

Re: Bill of Materials Canadian Currency

This is strange.
I would think that if you converted the final number to US dollars you would be ok. ( and anything close to the other limits ie $400 for a single piece, etc)

You have to convert every single number to US$?

This means that in the Israeli regional... with nearly every team and most of the inspectors from Isreal...they have to use US$ ...

i have also wondered why the team rules and Updates are not done in more than one language... If we are truly a world organization now...why aren't we offering correct translations? At least for Spanish, French, Portuguese, Hebrew..

Re: Bill of Materials Canadian Currency

For years like this year where the two currencies are trading very close to par, we don't bother converting. The difference is well within the margin of error from other sources (guesstimating quantities used and sources for old raw materials, etc.), and we're always far under the cost limit. Given that the primary purpose of the BOM is to ensure individual item and overall robot cost limits are respected (or at least it has been on the couple of occasions I've been an inspector), you should be okay as long as your BOM conveys this.
