analog breakout version ??
i am holding two boards, the red one says analog bumper and its circuitry matches the kop picture, it's version is 4. but i own a blue one, same output form, fit, and function as the red one but the circuitry is complety different. the blue one is labelled analog breakout and it is version 6.
i am assuming the red one is the legal one, but can anyone tell me anything about the blue one?? thanks |

Re: analog breakout version ??
I don't see any rule that requires a specific version of the analog breakout.
The red one is older and has a switching regulator. This gives it higher current output (3 amps), at the expense of more noise. The blue one has a linear regulator with lower current (0.25 amps) but lower noise. The FIRST 2011 analog breakout specifications from the kit of parts website are misleading, because it pictures a red analog breakout but describes a blue analog breakout. |
