Modified or FABRICATED axis camera

Is it possible to use an axis camera that has the little m4 screw on the back replaced with a longer one? This wouldn't effect the electrical part of the camera but would mean opening up the case.

There is nothing in the rules that says you can't modify the camera, as long as it stays electrically isolated from the chassis <R36>.
