Adhearing to the rules - how to know?

Just want to be sure that I'm adhearing to "the rules". The following process is what I "THINK" is the correct way to be sure we follow the rules.

1. Read the MAIN documents from here: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr...nt.aspx?id=452
The only RULES I see are from "The Game" (G), "The Robot" (R) and "The Tournament" (T)

2. Read the TEAM updates from here: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr...nt.aspx?id=450. Working my way from Update #1 to the latest (currently there are 10), I update the documentation (or annotate) the rules mentioned in Step 1.

3. Anything else? Someone mentioned 'monitoring the US FIRST' forumns but that sounds too vague to me.

So... if I do items #1 and #2, do you think I've covered my bases correctly?

Yep, sounds like you have the primary bases covered... Make sure you also read the glossary in section 6 of the Introduction. There are some "rules" hidden in there, such as the bumper zone being 1"-7"off the ground. Is there any particularly question you have in mind?

Re: Adhearing to the rules - how to know?

Glossary - right! I'll add that as well.

no specific questions but more of a "catch all" for being sure we don't have surprises. Surprises we have had in the past - and this is not quite a match for this thread - was that we needed to update the cRIO image at the competition and we had never tested our Robot with that image. That's because we were not watching for updates. This year, we are trying to do a tad better.

Monitor the Q&A forum: http://forums.usfirst.org/forumdisplay.php?f=1465

Rules are not posted there, but clarification of the rules is provided there. If the GDC deems something as being legal via the official Q&A, you can present this ruling should you ever be questioned. I suggest having the ruling printed out so it can be quickly and clearly shown to an Inspector, Referee or anyone else who would like to question the legality of your robot, strategy, etc.
