Number of Jaguars used?
I was looking through the rules but didn't see anything specific about the number of Jaguar's that can be on the robot. Is there a limit to the number of Jaguar's that can be on the robot?

Re: Number of Jaguars used?
Weight / Cost limits.
Of course, PWM outputs avaliable are also a limiting factor. As are the slots on the PD block. And I think CAN only goes up to 60ish? |

Of course this exercise is done purely out of curiosity to see how many Jags you could control. The motors you could control with the Jags is limited to 13, including 4 CIMs, 4 total Banebots motors, 4 window motors (which have issues with Jags), and 1 FP motor. The extra CAN Jags could be used to read sensors, but I am not sure what you would do with the extra PWM Jags. Perhaps, you could use their 3 color LEDs to signal which tube you want next to your Feeder ![]() |

Cost restrictions say 41 max, if you use nothing else but KOP parts. Christmas tree please? |

Re: Number of Jaguars used?
I think you've got the answer already, now for some real world, practical examples
We're using 7 Jaguars this year. http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/36211All 7 run on CAN bus without a problem. |

Re: Number of Jaguars used?
I think there is a buildout limit on the PWM driver that would limit this.

Re: Number of Jaguars used?
Then yes, Weight restrictions and what you can afford to get limit the number of speed controllers.
