Wifi Issues at Scrimmage
Our robot was having difficulty working with the FMS at our scrimmage yesterday. Communication was good, everything was pinging everything else, but our robot would never become enabled. It works perfectly with our routers so we cannot figure out what the problem was. The volunteers running the scrimmage didn't know what the problem was either because our robot connected to the FMS, it just wasn't being enabled. We tried using our DLink bridge and also a WRT54G that we have been using for the build season - both bridges connected perfectly. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Re: Wifi Issues at Scrimmage
On the DS diagnostics page, it lists the DS and cRIO versions. Can you report both of those?

Re: Wifi Issues at Scrimmage
cRio at v28. I don't know the DS version but a simple ping test didn't work. We have also tested with v25 through v28, same results.
With a borrowed cRio we are almost there, the DS->AP->BR communication works but not tothe cRio right away. Unplug the DS, plug it back in and we are fine. |

Re: Wifi Issues at Scrimmage
The ring I ask is that the DS delivered at kickoff on the memory stick was released many months ago. Just prior to kickoff, the field, robot image, and DS were changed to introduce additional safety on the field.
So. If you have an issue with communications only on the field, this would be at the top of my list. Greg McKaskle |
