Black Jaguar Rapidly Disables/Enables
I have a Black Jaguar that I have connected to an encoder. We have it configured to run in Speed Control mode over CAN. We are programming in Java.
It was at one point running perfectly, but has now started to rapidly toggle between disabled and enabled about 5 times a second. Has anyone else seen this type of behaviour before? Solutions? |

Re: Black Jaguar Rapidly Disables/Enables
You might want to check your encoder and the connections. Since it worked perfectly when you started, it could be your disk has changed or been damaged or a wire connection has become intermittent.
When the Jag looses the encoder signal it will go full speed, which could explain some of what you are seeing. Another issue is if just one of the A or B signals goes out I have seen them reset from quad mode to encoder mode, which really makes a mess. You didn't indicate the type of encoder, but I just thought I would mention that. Always fall back to BDC-COMM when in doubt. If it works OK in BDC-COMM then the issue will be software. If it fails in BDC-COM then the likely issue will be hardware. -Hugh |
