Minibot outside the frame

Is there any restriction for the minibot to be outside of the frame before the end game of the match? someone told me about that but I can't find this rule.

Re: Minibot outside the frame

You cannot start with the minibot outside the frame perimeter. Per rule R14, no part of the ROBOT may extend outside the FRAME PERIMETER. Your ROBOT is defined as your HOSTBOT plus MINIBOT, therefore your MINIBOT is subject to the frame perimeter rules.

I think yarden.saa meant after the start of a match and before the endgame period. I BELIEVE (don't quote me on this cause I don't have the rule book on me at the moment ) that once a match starts, you can have any part past your bumpers. However, I would keep as much inside as possible to avoid damage to my bot, you wouldn't want your minibot/deployment getting destroyed while still connected! (not that having it destroyed off your bot would be much better!)

Smile Re: Minibot outside the frame

Once the match starts, your robot, which includes the minibot, can extend to the 84" circular footprint. It would not be in your best interest to extend the minibot past your frame perimeter, as pointed out by another poster.

Re: Minibot outside the frame

yes, but be careful that when you are driving around that your minibot doesn't cross the circular plane of the base of the tower, or else that tower will be disabled for the match.
