Mac?
Our team recently had a mac donated to us and it is fairly new. I was wondering if it is possible to run the robot off of this? I'm asking because I havn't seen anything that specifically says a mac can run a bot. I'm using c++ if that makes a difference.

Re: Mac?
It is possible to program off of using wine, as for running the robot I have not heard of doing it short of boot camp. There is a slim chance it may run in wine but I wouldn't cross my fingers.

Re: Mac?
Netbeans of course will run. I like to use a virtual machine to minimize my windows exposure (and to provide easy recovery to crashes, as can happen with the CAN bus), but dual booting would also work. I would be pleasantly surprised if windrivier works in wine, but I see no glaring reason it wouldn't.

Re: Mac?
Dual boot the little guy with Bootcamp. That's what we do. It works rather well. We run XP and Snow Leopard.

Re: Mac?
If it has a good amount of memory, you may even find it useful to install a VMWare or Parallels product.
I installed a bootcamp partition and use it from Parallels. I almost always use it the virtual version. I just pause it when I'm not using it. Greg McKaskle |
