Compare and Contrast

Hello! I know this may sound like what your english teachers tell you to do, but I was just curious what kinds of differeneces people saw between the two regionals. Maybe nobody got a chance to follow both regionals, but I'm hoping this is not the case. I know the NASA regional had very little contact, in fact my team seemed to have the only agressive machine there. We ended up sticking out like a sore thumb. Was this the case at the chicago regional as well? My gut tells me there was quite a bit more shoving. I'm curious to hear some details.

Thanks!

One thing is for sure, you guys were the only aggressive team in California. You guys did seem to stand out amongst the rest with all the pushing and stuff. In Chicago there seemed to be a hell of alot more pushing and shoving, than there was in California. I think that in the New England Regional, and mabey in Jersey, its gonna be even more aggressive. So don't feel like a sore thumb Gunn, you are not alone.
Good Luck to all
Andy Grady

Chicago did have a lot of physical robots. Numerous machines were corned by the puck, knocked off the puck or blocked from getting to the puck by other teams. Teams would even use each others floppy lifts or arms to block other floppy lifts. Teams also went as far as to knock into other robots to shake loose those floppies they could or to knock other robots off balance. While it was quite rough and tough, no rules were broken and no robots got much more then a few dings or scratches. All in all the teams played fairly and the refs did a great job.
