This is absolutely amazing.
Beautifully designed with a superb manipulator / arm combo.

Oh and kudos to the programmers

That is simply absurd. I firmly believed this would not be possible. Congratulations to whoever programmed that.

Re: The Pink Team 3 Tube Autonomous

i'm amazed, are you guys using line tracking, vision targets, both or just dead reckoning? anyhow, that's an awesome autonomous period. I bet it was pretty hard to code!

Just a few encoders and a gyro slapped on with some tape.

i'd keep asking questions because i want to learn exactly how this works but, for the sake of you and the pink team's sanity/success i won't bug you about it.

this is probably the coolest autonomous mode ever..

Re: The Pink Team 3 Tube Autonomous

This is absolutely brilliant. It will be even more amazing if Pink can pull this off in an actual match at St. Louis... I'll be watching them closely.

Think about it: If Pink can score 3 Ubertubes in auton, score 6 tubes on the top row, and get first place in the minibot race, that's 102 points easily achieved by one robot. No need for any other robots on Pink's alliance. Amazing.

To Jay, Taylor, Luke, Deanna, and all you 67 programmers (I know you read these forums): Do this.

I don't think this would be possible for anyone who has to turn around to pick up each subsequent tube.

Very impossible. I would have tried though...

At first I thought that this auton would be useless after qualifications are over, but then I realized that if it's consistent enough, it could potentially be better than three robots trying to put up three tubes and interfering with each other. This was a big problem at MSC.

Re: The Pink Team 3 Tube Autonomous

Psssh the yooper troopers had a six tube auton two weeks ago. But seriously this game was built built for the pink team they have been building the telescoping arm since before I've been in first. I think this could be their year to win Einstein.

It looks like the tubes are positioned so they can be placed in front of their two alliance partners, ensuring neither of them get in the way as long as they do not move.

Re: The Pink Team 3 Tube Autonomous

I'm hoping this year is a big WARNING sign to the GDC. Give teams 20 seconds for autonomus ! They can do really amazing things

Four of four successes? Insane!

Maybe if your alliance partners helped push the ubertubes closer to the rack, then backed off.....
