Scholarship Workshop

4-H FIRST Robotics team, Exploding Bacon, will be hosting a scholarship workshop open to all high school grade levels. The workshop will be led by recent high school graduate, Marissa Goldberg, who has won over $33,000 in scholarships this year. Come join us as we show you how to attend college loan-free.

10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (There will be a lunch break from 11:00- 12:00, so feel free to bring a lunch)

Marissa! First of all, congratulations on your success!

This is a wonderful idea for a workshop! Thank you for offering to share your tips to others. I would love to have you make your presentation available to teams too far away to attend.

Our team promotes the FIRST scholarships as part of our team recruitment but the mentors are often discouraged by the lack of efforts of the students in applying for available scholarships (FIRST and others). If your experience could help to get students more motivated to search out and apply for scholarships, that would really be a boost!

As a mentor is it VERY frustrating to see kids miss out on these opportunities. We push the kids to apply for various scholarships. In 6 years Bacon seniors have won over 300,000.00 dollars worth of scholarships, both from FIRST and other kinds.

I am hoping to get the workshop videoed. Also, I am working on launching a website that will have all the information I will present at the workshop. It will probably be finished in early August.
