LabVIEW Version for 2012
Does anyone know what version of LabVIEW the teams will be using for 2012?
My local NI rep did tell me it was not going to be 8.6, but did not say which version. Any word from the beta testing teams? Thanks Omar PS This is how we "innovate" here in the Rocket City (Huntsville Alabama) http://channel.nationalgeographic.co...city-rednecks/ |

Re: LabVIEW Version for 2012
We have yet to receive anything. We are still in the dark.
Although if I had to guess, I would guess 2011. That's just a guess, though. |

Re: LabVIEW Version for 2012
I guess the fact you heard it won't be 8.6 is at least some progress. I'm happy to know they've been working hard to better our experience (it would be all to easy to just let us go with the older version).
If I had to guess at a version, I'd say 2010. This would give the NI guys enough time to modify ... whatever they need to modify in time (remember, LV 2011 is only a few months old). Of course, I can hope for 2011, as this would eliminate the need for me to maintain two versions of LabVIEW on my computer. Keep us posted |

Quote:
All of the WPI library is written in LV, and I currently have a copy of LV2011 with WPIlib 2011 installed in vi.lib (it works fine for writing code so far, I ve yet to do a build/download). It's not modifying LV, it's writing LV code and putting it in VI.lib as a library. |

Re: LabVIEW Version for 2012
I'm guessing (and hoping) for 2010. I will be really suprised if it's 2011, they like to be a version back to make sure any bugs in the RT stuff have been found and addressed. I heard somewhere that they skipped moving to 2009 last year because of some RT issues, so if it's not going to be 8.6 then it's probably going to be 2010.
I have been anxiously waiting to find out, as I don't want to get my new programmers going on too new a version and have them get used to features that will not be in the competition version. I guess I'll find out in a few days when the beta DVD shows up in my mailbox. |
