Scheduled Downtime
FYI: The site will be down this weekend at some point for a few hours while moving to its new more powerful server, in preparation for the upcoming season.
Happy Thanksgiving! |

Re: Scheduled Downtime
Seconded. FIRST wouldn't be the same without Chief Delphi, and we don't show enough our appreciation that we have for you, Brandon.
Is there an estimated time-frame for when the site will be down from (what day and from when to when)? |

Re: Scheduled Downtime
Brandon, is it possible to get a more accurate day/time estimate? Fantasy FIRST starts this weekend, and I know I would like to not have to move drafts around--for one thing, it'll be hard to find a day/time to move them to--or run them in multiple sections. (Drafts start 7 PM EST and should end before 10 PM EST, for reference.)
That said, I like more power. Now if only Brandon also ran the FIRST site... ![]() |

Re: Scheduled Downtime
Another upgrade! Sweet, seems lately about every year CD gets a server upgrade. Is this more processor power or more bandwidth power?

Re: Scheduled Downtime
Eric: It will happen in a few hours. Sorry for the short notice, just saw your post.
Mike: It's moving from a dedicated server to a CloudLayer server from SoftLayer, which will let us dynamically increase RAM & CPU during the season, to handle the high traffic. During the off-season, we can scale it down and save money. In the end, it works out to just about the same hosting costs. |
