No NXT required?

looking at the Minibot rules it doesn't look like you need to control it from the NXT, could you just make a circuit using the battery and a button to complete the circuit to the motors and not have an NXT on the minibot at all?

Hi,
We just got the FTC kit from AndyMark yesterday, the one from FIRST parts, and it does not include a controler, I hope they answer the question soon
