Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
Nope. About half a week behind, due to not meeting for all of week 1. Got 1 meeting in on Saturday, and hopefully we can get into our school monday (due to MLK day it is closed...)

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
Overall I think were on Schduel.
Where we stand. -The chassis prototyping has been complete, and electronics have been strapped on to make a it have full driving capabilities. (a desc ion should be made within the next few days) - A lot of Great arm prototyping has been done, sevral designs have been made to some degree to another, and I see there being some testing in the near future. - The mini-bot crew has been fast at work getting everything together, and there protypeing (in VEX parts) has been quite well. I expect to see some expirmental programming taking place soon. - A scoring Grid, feeder Slot, and mini bot pole have all been build buy the Field Construction Crew and look great! - Minibot Deployment system has been prototyped with motor and looks great. - Programming has been fooling around with the FMS light to see if it will be compatible with non-classmates for pre-season events. - Programming has also been programming all of these contraptions. Over all I'd say were on track. The fact that prgramming ran out of stuff to do mid-day tells me that our department has been on the ball and is a-head of schduel. The only problem is we don't have a strategy sorta! This is a problem. The reason for this is that in our strategy meetings, a good amount of students want to build a completely "defensive robot, with minor offensive abilities "(FirstTunes Ep. 5). All the mentors, Alumni, and some students believe this is not a smart way to go (I included). We believe that any robot can play defense, and we need to think offensively at least until the robot it done. However since Student wise, we're currently in the Minority for offense, we were able to work with the mentors to use a stalling tactic, and get a jack of all trades bot through everyone. By doing this, it basically allows us to build an offensive robot, without upsetting those in favor of Defense. Is it risky? Yes, but if it plays out right, it will be benifical to the team.Overall the season has been going well, I and the other programmer have been getting along great so far, and I can't wait to see what the future brings. |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
We're ahead of schedule, but that still puts our projected "finish robot" date about two weeks after ship
![]() Our concept is all but picked out. Our drivetrain is out for fabrication and should be done on Friday. We should get a gripper prototype or two in this next week. Now is the hard part though - where our resources bite us. We're under a restricted schedule that only meets Monday-Friday, 10 hours a week. We're shipping our robot the Friday before ship because of a school break. So "ahead of schedule" isn't fast enough. |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
"Ahead of schedule" and "robotics" in the same sentence? Nonsense...

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
Team 2950 is going at a steady pace. We have added more rookies this year to help us out on both the Design team and Engineering team.Yesterday we had our third build session and Monday we shall do the same
I hope that everyone else is having as much productivity as we are having! |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
Team 639 is a little bit ahead of schedule. We got our overall strategy and design done in record time (somewhat offset by the day we lost to snow), the field parts were finished in a little over a day (followed by 2 hours of trying to get it out of the door of our machine shop), and we've already got a prototype for a magnetic minibot about halfway done!
Programming has a temporary replacement for last year's driver station in place for extremely early driver practice, I'm working on adding lights to the base of the tower for autonomous deployment, and I'm working on rebuilding a control board for the '07 robot (with no documentation from '07). Overall everything seems to be running very quickly |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
Frame bolted together. Still need to order other parts. Better than last year. We were not even at the frame this time last year!!

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
The joke is that because the robot is never really "done" we are never really on schedule.
...That said we are much further along then in previous years. |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
Team 1389 is "ahead of schedule"...compared to last year.
More or less on schedule this year. Assuming the andymark parts arrive on time, our drive train should be complete by next week. Then again, nothing ever goes perfectly according to plan in robotics does it. ![]() |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
I can't believe the fact that for once we are ahead of schedule
our design is finalized and mostly in CAD prototyped the claw and drive train and started the arm mini bot design is done and in CAD just waiting for parts t-shirts and pins are almost done pit building is the only thing behind at the moment and last year by this time we were on our 3rd draft of our robot design with 3 unfinished prototypes |

Re: 1 week down, are you on schedule?
We're ahead right now. I expect that to take a sharp downhill turn sometime this week.
