When we considered this idea, we wanted to be able to throw from the lane (right by the gap the human player can load through) all the way to your lane, about 48 feet. Otherwise, there is no benefit of the tubes being safe for your alliances use only and at that point your human player might as well throw the tube. It might not go quite that far but you dont have to drive into the lane and use valuable weight on a thrower...

20 feet isn't that far, duke461 has been able to throw the square almost 30 feet (well done duke). For the record the square flies best, followed by the circle, and then the triangle.

Re: Fetch,Throw,Fetch,Throw, ect..

Why turret your device when you could spin your robot?

You need to be able to throw from the tip of the driving lane to the tip of the protected zone to be a truly great robot, IMO
