Reflexive Tape

We checked out the company listed and they want to sell us 580 ft for 250 bucks. We definitely don't need that much, we need around 50 ft. Anyone have any other places where they've gone to get the tape, preferably at a decent price?

Re: Reflexive Tape

I almost made the same mistake. The GP 10 reflector tape is ONLY for the targets on the vertical poles. Use the KOP reflector tape on your pole targets. 2" squares will probably work fine.

THe GP 10 is NOT for the floor marking tape.

from the rules
"TRACKING LINES are marked on the carpet with 2-inch wide grey gaffers tape."

and that is relatively cheap, something like this

You could probably go to home depot and get a roll of 3M electricians bundling tape. It looks like duct tape but it isn't and is similiar to gaffers tape.

On a full field, there are 36 scoring pegs. Each has reflective tape on the round end and a pair of strips on the post above and below the peg. 50 feet sounds about right to me.

Re: Reflexive Tape

Alan is correct. You will need a lot of tape to build a full field.

And a full field costs a lot of money.

I talked to the manufacturer of the tape and it is about $ 260 per roll. Not inexpensive. I'm guessing that finding a comparable tape, with comparable performance, would have a comparable price.

Seems like there are two options. Bury the cost of the roll in the total cost of the field, or buy a roll with other teams that are building fields and share the roll.

Re: Reflexive Tape

I think it will take about 21' of tape for a field -- 36 pegs with two 1"x4" strips and one 2"x2.75". The fabric being used has no coatings and was the least expensive that could be located. It is surprising just how expensive some of those materials are.
