CAN
Hi, my team has decided to use CAN for our Jaguars this year, and when I try to run the Java code that I wrote, the CRio sends an edu.wpi.edu.first.wpilibj.util.UncleanStatusExcept ion: In JaguarCANDriver::sendMessage, fatal status code detected -52010
Please help us Thanks |

Re: CAN
There are many teams having issues with Java and can. see Technical>Electrical>Can -> Updated Can Issues
Until the issues are fixed there is no can in java. |

Re: CAN
There's a new Java update that includes significantly improved CAN Jaguar support. Give it a try.

Re: CAN
The Java CAN code that shipped (2011.3) this year is non-functioning. We have solved this by using last year's CAN code. Apparently on Monday (January 17), they released 2011.4. The laptop we are using to program has not received this update, so I am not sure if it fixes the issue.
Last year I modified the CAN code to be fault-tolerant. You may be interested in these; I've posted them to this forum somewhere... |

Re: CAN
It fixed the issue for my team. You just need to update the Netbeans plugins and redeploy. You'll likely need to do a little code modification as there is a new checked exception from the CANJaguar constructor.

Re: CAN
I guessed as much. It's just that the computer I was using isn't regularly connected to the Internet ~ doesn't regularly receive updates, and I didn't notice the update until I got home today. Glad to see wpilibj's finally throwing non-runtime exceptions.
