Team 58 - Up, Up and Away!

Video of our prototype climbing the tower. Yes, I know that it is oversized. It is just a prototype. We will have it trimmed down to its competition weight and size soon.

Looks excellent.

Million Dollar Question: How do you plan on deploying it?

That looks like an interesting design. Out of curiosity, how do you plan to get on to the tower? It looks like the wheels start around the tower.

I see two bands of surgical tubing on the backside, looks to me like it is some sort of spring loaded mechanism that lets them wrap around.

Not nearly enough wood to be on a Riot Crew robot... good luck this year!

How are your teams planning on attaching the arms after they have sprung and are around the pole? We are looking to magnets.

seems to be that the bands hold back the arms until the bot collides with the pole and then the arms snap shut? we had a something had that. have any ideas on the deployment? that happens to be a bigger problem than the actual minibot.

Re: Team 58 - Up, Up and Away!

From the looks of it, it seems to be using the same theory as our as far as holdinh itself on the pole goes. For Team 58's sake as well as ours, I'm not going to say, but it's pretty simple when it's detailed out.
