Jaguar Light Blinking Yellow

Hi, we are a rookie team this year and are finally starting to get all the electrical components functioning. We have everything hooked up and have the cRIO connected to the driver system. In the tutorials we have looked at, it seems like when on the driver station when we enable the robot, the jaguar light should be a solid yellow. Then as we move the joystick, the light should either be red or green. When we enable the robot, the light continues to blink yellow. We are pretty sure it is connected properly because the light is on but we have been trying to get basic motor controls going with no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Jaguar Light Blinking Yellow

Thanks for the quick response. So what I got from your response is that the slow flashing yellow that we are having is due to a lack of servo. We have a motor connected but not a servo. I will try that instead. Thank you

they should be able to run with a motor. my thoughts are that the jaguar isn't recognizing whatever is plugged into it. I would make sure that all the wiring checks out. are you using PWM or CAN? my apologies for an unclear wording.

Re: Jaguar Light Blinking Yellow

The yellow-blinking Jag means that particular PWM output has not been Opened in your code.

What code have you downloaded to the cRIO?

Re: Jaguar Light Blinking Yellow

I think we have downloaded the basic code that came with the updated labview along with (Robot Main.vi) and also a motor control program we made. But I am not a 100% positive that it is downloaded to the cRIO. I mean the code deploys fine.

In LabVIEW, to download code so it runs natively on the cRIO (as opposed to through a computer), go to the project explorer, expand Build Specifications, right click on FRC Robot Boot Up Deployment and click on Build. After that do the same thing except click on Run as Startup. This will make the code so it runs on the cRIO.

On a different note, open up begin.vi and check the PWM port on the digital sidecar you're using is the same one being opened for the motor

Re: Jaguar Light Blinking Yellow

We are having this same problem, and completed all the steps you suggested to no avail. The PWM's are set to port 1 and 2 in the code and plugged into port 1 and 2 in the sidecar. We ran also 'built' the FRC Robot Boot Up Deployment and Ran it as Startup. The jaguars are still flashing yellow...anything else we can try?

Re: Jaguar Light Blinking Yellow

Promise that you Enabled it from the Driver Station?
All the status lights on the Digital Sidecar, Power Distribution Panel, and Driver Station are green?

did you close your variables in the "Finish" and did you remember to put your safety configs for each thing in your begin area with a "merge errors?" Idk if all of those are needed.. but we had the same problem.. I remembered I didn't do either of those and now we have a successful code. Check those, if it works, no questions are needed
