Minibot Stored Energy?

Can we use surgical tubing with stored energy to secure a wheel to the pole, in the process growing the height of Minibot but it still remains in the 12x12x12 restriction? Would that be considered to be using stored energy to "climb" the pole?

Interesting question, definitely worthy of a Q&A. I would say that if the growth results in the top of the minibot coming closer to the plate, then it is illegal. If it is only the bottom expanding, it is legal.

If it does not contribute to the "vertical motion of the minibot" then it would seem to be acceptable.
