It turns out it was fine but in the process of getting it turned off we ripped off both of the leads on the motor (whoops). We melted the plastic around the leads in the motor with a soldering iron and soldered on wires. I doubt its competition legal now, but atleast its a working prototype motor.

I would be surprised if performance was unaffected by this. The tetrix motors are actually easy to not destroy if you take precautions to protect them, such as limiting how much you gear them up.
