no communications wireless

We set up the new bridge following the instructions LabView tutorial 3 "setting up Robot Radio"... We were able to set everything in instructions, so I assume it was OK. Set network connections, ask for subnet 255.0.0.0. We are using our Lap top as driver station, set LAN to 10.2.23.5 (team 223, we were communicating with Robot tether no problem).
We connected new bridge to CRIO (same jack as we always used). Connected our lap top to the Router Ethernet Jack (same router used last year). Start driver station, Communications does not light up. Looks like router flashing OK and Bridge is blinking.
Went into router settings, noticed subnet was 255.255.255.0... Not sure if this needed to be same as Bridge, try to change on router, could not enter 255.0.0.0 (router would not accept). So we changed subnet in bridge network settings to same as router, still no communications.
After most of the night trying, we are out of ideals, any suggestions?
We are using laview... We just power up CRIO, bridge blinking, run driver station.. I believe this is all we did last year to get the communications LED come on?

Re: no communications wireless

There are several threads on this precise issue (think I read one just last night). The router is not part of the basic setup for communications this year. You set the DLINK to AP mode (little switch on the back) and connect to it wirelessly from your laptop.

Re: no communications wireless

Thanx, tried it - still not working

Works when connect driver station to bridge, bridge to crio

Computer wireless network setting to 10.2.23.5, subnet 255.0.0.0

what does subnet need to be on computer wireless?

Is preshare keyy same as instructions, but change team: 0223WPAKEY?

Re: no communications wireless

We had so many problems with flaky wireless signals that we decided to just use a WRT54G configured in bridge mode on the robot with last years router as the AP, both using DD-WRT. We are going to use that configuration until the competition.
