I'm generally inclined to believe you, not because I think that the robots will be incapable of pulling it off, but because alliances will be more inclined to score three on the top level rather than risk only scoring two on one row of pegs.

No, what he was saying that the opposing alliance wouldnt be much of a scoring threat so they could take the risk of missing 1 or 2 ubertubes to try for the 3 on one set.

There will be two top rows over three ubertubes, though. No reason they need to be in the same row.

Well 1 row of 3 ubertubes underneath a logo is 54pts, whereas 1 row of 1 ubertube underneath a logo + 1 row of 2 ubertubes underneath a logo is over 80pts so it is not as many points but it would be fun to see

6 proper tubes and 3 Ubertubes in any permutation on the top row is 80 points.

I do not think this will ever happen in a qualifications match, but perhaps an elimination late season or at Championship.

Yes, that is what i was trying to say. We saw it last year. Whenever there was a good scoring team they abandoned defense and doubled up, or even tripled up in the offensive zone.

I kind of agree with Car Nack here.

Teams utilizing linetracking as a means to track the pegs will have to account for the 3rd team trying to score on the same set of pegs. Obviously there will be successful teams who do not utilize the line tracking and go straight for the pegs via dead reckoning or use of camera, it just seems like it will need a perfect set of events to get all 3 ubertubes across one top row.

Considering how so many teams have trouble making a decent autonomous mode this one is not surprising at all.
You really don't start seeing consistent autonomous excellence from most or all of the robots til the later rounds of the championship divisons and Einstien.

I agree with a lot that has been said here, but I do not think that this occurrence is NEVER going to happen. I agree with the fact that consistent and successful autonomous modes are few and far between, and the fact that all three robots would have to have autonomous modes to reach the three pegs. If the autonomous mode Ubertube predicament can be overcome, I would be surprised is this task WASN'T accomplished.

From my perspective, it will probably occur as much as there were triple hangs last year. It is likely that it will not happen, but I would not be surprised if it happened.
