Size of your animation teams?

I'm just curious as to what the size of your guys' teams are...

We have two people , but this is also our first year. I'm lucky just not being the only one.

What about you?

EDIT: Oh yeah, I was referring to the animation teams.

Re: Size of your teams?

we started in 2001, we now have around 75 students, around 25-30 mentors and 3 college students. Largest team we've ever had.

Cool Re: Size of your teams?

We start off every year with about 15 people, and that usually goes down to the same 5-8 people working on the robot by then end of build season. This year we also have 2 mentors.

Then everyone comes back on competition day, conveniently

I assume you mean the size of the animation group. This is our first year with an organized animation crew and we have three sophomores, one freshman, and a mentor. Those four students all happen to be girls who are extremely hard working and creative but have very wacky ideas. Once or twice in the past, our team has had a "rogue" student take on the animation challenge but they were more or less on their own as our main team was small with limited resources.

For the overall robotics team, our rookie year was 2005 and this year I believe we have 20+ students all of whom are deeply involved. We have a very complex robot this year and students have been broken out into sub-teams to work on various components of the 'bot.

Oh! Animation! Whoops.

We have 6 students and one, "Mentor." The only reason I put that in quotes is because she does not know how to use the programs at all. She helps us brainstorm and makes sure all of the scenes look great. I do not know what we would do without her!

We don't even have a mentor yet we still were up for the international award! (in 2010)

Re: Size of your teams?

Haha. My first year doing animation, I did it all alone. My second year the animation team doubled - I got a freshman to help me. This year we once again doubled the animation team, we now have four dedicated animation students (Me, the sophomore from last year, and two freshman). We also have an amazing artist who will draw/paint whatever we want him to. So, currently, we have 'kind of' five animation people. There's never been an animation mentor on my team really, I'm self taught and I've helped teach all the freshman that have come my way.
