Smile 3374 Robots Hangin out up High!

Tonight we received a last few parts we had been waiting on, and were finally able to fully assemble our arm and run our first real set of tests. Everything worked better then I could have believed, and our robot is really looking good. I hope you guys find these videos cool and helpful.

Here is our arm and hand in action:

Here is our Minibot rocking out, with a design from team 263:

Re: 3374 Robots Hangin out up High!

Looks very nice! With some more driver practice, you guys have the potential to go far.

SAFETY GLASSES! No one had safety glasses in the video. Especially since these videos were of the first tests of your robot, something could have happened. In general since you have to wear safety glasses in the pits at all times, get used to wearing them at all times.

The mini-bot looks pretty good too.
What's the weight on it, and what was the purpose of the string on the tower?

Re: 3374 Robots Hangin out up High!

Thanks for the Tip on the safety glasses I admit that we totally overlooked that!

The weight on the Minibot is at 4.2 lbs right now and it usually clocks at about 3.5 seconds.

Right now we are working on building some mounts for encoders so that I can set up PID control on the arm joints. Once we get the encoders mounted I think our controls will really work nicely.

Thanks for the replies

Very nice design, actually seems rather similar to our own, just more developed. Video for ours (team 1559) is here:
