The red light indicates an electrical fault of some kind, have you made sure there are no metal chips causing a short anyway on the robot? Anything like that?
We confirmed the first one dead because it would try to use power, but never got started. One power was brought to it, the fan would make a clicking noise and never start spinning. I am not sure how we got the other to work because i was working on something else. I don't think their is any metal chips or something like that because we have kept the jaguars covered unless we are working on electrical where we are still very careful.
I don't know if you were mistaken, but the light isn't red when the robot is turned on, it is red when the joystick is moved. Thus, it is in neutral, then turns red, then goes back to yellow when joystick is released

I misunderstood, I thought you meant a rapid flashing red, my mistake.
As far as the fan clicking noise, have you tried blowing it out with compressed air? It may just be getting stuck, and I have no idea how the Jags internal processor reacts to not being able to start the fan, it may shut itself down, or it may do nothing.

I'm a FIRST relic of sorts, I remember when we used PBASIC and we got CH Flightsticks in the KoP. In my day we didn't have motorized carts, we pushed our robots uphill, both ways! (Houston 2003!)
