We were actually considering a prefabricated extension ladder as well, but decided against it. It was significantly different, with several telescoping stages (collapsing to a much lower height), but also with quite a bit more friction and plenty of complications for driving the thing. Our serpentine belt powered forklift, based off Teams 25, 254, 986, and probably more from 2007, went together much easier.
Bottom line for us is this... By elevating what ANY team can do, we also push those outstanding teams to go even further. - Rich Kressly [more]
